Cyber Resilience
A Cyber attack on emails or cloud data is now a serious business risk, not just a technology issue and, in many businesses, it sits closer to the CEO and Finance leader than many people think.
Case Study 1
Our business email accounts were compromised, resulting in phishing emails being sent to our customers and contacts. We were receiving constant phone calls from people warning us about suspicious emails. Despite reporting the issue immediately, it took several days for action to be taken, and the phishing emails were ultimately stopped.
The affected Microsoft account was finally deactivated to prevent further emails from being sent, leaving us without access to business emails, files, and essential services. This caused significant disruption to our daily operations, and we received little assistance in recovering our systems.
We contacted Shield24-7 from LazenbyIT, who responded quickly and professionally. Within hours, they set up a new domain and Microsoft 365 environment, allowing us to communicate with customers again. They also worked hard to recover our business data and successfully restored most of our files and emails despite the challenges caused by the compromised system.
Shield24-7 has since strengthened our security with additional protection through #SaaS Alerts and #INKY, giving us much greater confidence in our safeguards. Their expertise, promptness, and support throughout the process were exceptional. We highly recommend Shield24-7 from LazenbyIT to any business seeking reliable IT support and cybersecurity services.

Case Study 2
Lazenby IT’s security expertise was invaluable to us during a recent phishing attack that our business suffered.
An email disguised as a genuine business enquiry was sent to a number of our employee’s and unfortunately a member of staff clicked on an attachment within the email they received. This action launched the malware program that the phishing attack was trying to deliver.
24hrs later that member of staff couldn’t gain access to their account. Unknowing of the cause we reported an issue with the users account to Lazenby IT. Very quickly, Lazenby IT discovered we were the victims of a phishing attack which was still ongoing. They quickly ejected the attackers, cleaned and secured the users account.
Lazenby IT identified that the attackers were continuing to try and gain access to a number of other user account, including those of senior management. Over the next few days all accounts were monitored and further attacks kept at bay. Within a short time after the incident was first reported, Lazenby IT were able to provide us with the details of the attack.
Within an hour and a half of the attack starting, 7500 emails had been sent out by the attackers from the users account, to close to 2000 contacts, with one contacted receiving almost 3500 emails. Lazenby IT were able to provide a full list of those affected contacts so that we were able to send warning of the incident.
Prior to the incident, Lazenby IT had recommended some additional cyber protection measures, which following the attack we asked to be implemented immediately. Those included #SaaS Alerts, which would monitor our cloud services including Office 365, blocking and reporting potentially malicious login attempts. #INKY email guidance which would flag safety and threat levels of incoming emails and allow users to interact with emails accordingly. #Bullphish ID, to provide advanced staff awareness training. #Dark Web, to monitor the dark web for compromised credentials, and finally My Glue, giving all users secure documentation and password storage.
All these measures were deployed quickly with training where required and have given us piece of mind that we’re much more secure from future attacks. Maybe the one and only benefit to come from the phishing attack, is the reinforcement of confidence in Lazenby IT to act as our IT support provider.
